Autosport International and sister show The Performance Car Show as kicked off to a great start with numerous unveilings, including Classic Team Lotus who, for the first time ever gathered all 7 existing Lotus type 49s together in one place along with the engineers who worked on them.
There really is something for everyone at the show. The show is open to the trade on Thursday and Friday but opens to the public on Saturday and Sunday. The Performance Car Show is a great opportunity to have a good look around the latest from sports car manufacturers like Radical, Ginetta Cars and Noble. Liberty Walk Car Stylest showing off their latest…
Formula 1 is well represented with a display as you would expect at The Race Car Show, all the top cars are on display. Including tyre change demonstrations.
Many clubs both motorsport and race car owners have displays the RS500 Owners Club have a fantastic collection, celebrating the cars 30 years. Much to my surprise, Andy Rouse’s car was there from the Bathurst 1000 in the late eighties. I was doing the travelling bit as a young’un, also a BTCC fan, I was determined to get to Bathurst before I had to leave. I was thrilled to find out Andy Rouse was there and in a Cosworth. And here it is in the NEC!

Coys Auction always have a lot of interesting cars including fair number of historic motorsport cars. It is worth noting to get up close to the auction cars you do have to buy a catalogue. This year some favourites are a Timo Makinen / Paddy Hopkirk Ex-Works Mini Cooper (See below)…
and this really interesting Deep Sanderson 301 Le Mans racer with a stonking A series in the back.
A few other Coys cars…
