Britain’s Best Classic Destination

Bicester Sunday Scramble 2018

One of the UK’s leading classic vehicle insurance brokers, Footman James, has once again partnered up with Britain’s biggest selling classic car magazine, Practical Classics, to reveal Britain’s Best Classic Destination.

After the success of last year’s search for Britain’s Best Classic Café, Footman James and the Practical Classics team are once again on the hunt to find the best of Britain.

2017 saw Footman James and Practical Classics travel the length and breadth of Britain to find its ultimate classic café. From Smokey Joe’s Café in Redruth to The Trading Post & Railway Carriage Cafe near Ilminster which won overall, the experience was one to never forget. The team at Footman James met many classic enthusiasts and heard lots of interesting stories, and this year they aim to do the same.

With a new year there’s a new challenge, as the task for 2018 is to find Britain’s Best Classic Destination. Clients of Footman James and readers of Practical Classics had six weeks to vote for their top 30 British destinations for classic vehicle lovers. The list included; tourist hotspots, memorable drives, museums and castles, just to name a few. Making the shortlist were Footman James partner, Coventry Transport Museum, Goodwood and Ireland’s own Giants Causeway.

It is now time to narrow the 30 nominations down to just ten! The next stage of the competition is an online vote, which you can enter via the Practical Classics website at practicalclassics.co.uk/bestclassics. Once the top ten have been selected, Footman James and Practical Classics will once again hit the road as they travel an astonishing journey across the UK as they visit each nominated destination, with the winner being announced this Spring. During this time, classic car enthusiasts have the chance to join Footman James and Practical Classics on this epic adventure and make memories for themselves!

David Bond, Managing Director at Footman James commented, ‘With the success of last year’s hunt for Britain’s Best Classic Café, we are once again delighted to join the Practical Classics team in search for Britain’s Best Classic Destination. We are already excited to join the journey and are looking forward to seeing who ranks as Britain’s number one classic destination.
