This stunning 1953 pastel green Jaguar XK120 has been involved with the same family for nearly 64 years. A 24-year-old mechanic saw the car for sale in 1953 but the price was out of reach. However, when the car was up for grabs again five years later he jumped at the chance and purchased his dream car.
As the new owner, he was soon competing in hill climbs and sprints, upgrading the car with all the tuning options of the day including the cutting edge Tecalamit fuel injection system and larger 3.8l engine.
The Fuel injection has since been removed but still has its race-spec 3.8l engine.
The Jaguar is just one of the stunning classics in the Charterhouse Sale this weekend at The Great Western Classic Car Show The Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet. (11-12th Feb) and estimated to sell for £60,000-65,000.
